Jupiter is delighted to announce the appointment of Philip Matthews as manager of the £39m Jupiter Growth & Income fund.
Philip, who has worked at Jupiter since 1999, managed the Jupiter UK Smaller Companies fund between August 2002 and April 2006. The management of this fund was handed over to Richard Curling on 3 April, following Philip's move to the UK equity income desk.
Philip takes over the Jupiter Growth & Income fund from Paul Sheehan, who has been manager since June 2001. This follows the decision to move the management of the fund into the equity income team, under the supervision of Anthony Nutt. Supporting Philip and Anthony are analysts Chris Watt and Max Usher.
Edward Bonham Carter, joint chief executive of Jupiter Asset Management, said: "With demand for income-producing assets set to increase over the coming years, we have recognised the need to build a dedicated UK equity income resource under Anthony Nutt. Having established this team, it made sense to put all funds with an equity income element under his supervision and pass the management of the Jupiter Growth & Income fund to Philip Matthews. This leaves Paul Sheehan free to focus on managing growth funds."
