Jupiter has been awarded second place in the Alpha League Table, created by Europerformance and EDHEC to recognise asset management houses on their ability to deliver positive alpha. Jupiter achieved an alpha intensity score of 2.68% in the analysis, compared with an average alpha intensity of 1.2%.
Alpha intensity depends on both alpha frequency and average alpha for each fund management company.  Average alpha is the average percentage of alpha generated by the selected funds.  Alpha frequency is the number of funds with strictly positive alpha.  Multiplying these two figures gives the alpha intensity rating.
This year is the fourth edition of the Alpha League Table which examines companies in the UK. The Alpha League Table is a European wide ranking system which delivers an accurate assessment of risk-adjusted performance.

This accolade follows on from the Auszeichnungen Sauren Golden Awards 2007, where three of Jupiter's managers were recognised. Sauren Fonds-Research AG, part of the Sauren group, awards an annual rating of up to 3 gold medals to the most promising fund managers for funds registered in Germany.  Their qualitative rating approach focuses not on the fund, but rather on the fund manager responsible for taking investment decisions.

Elena Shaftan was awarded 3 gold medals for outstanding fund management in the category "Equities Eastern Europe" - based on JGF Emerging Europe Select.  Philip Gibbs was awarded 3 gold medals for outstanding fund management in the category "Equities Financials" - based on JGF Global Financials and Cédric de Fonclare was awarded 2 gold medals for outstanding fund management in the category "Equities Europe incl. UK" - based on JGF European Opportunities.
