Jonathan Carey steps back to part time role << Back

Jonathan Carey is to step back from his full time role with effect from 1 May 2008.

Jonathan, who has worked at Jupiter for 20 years, held the position of Joint Chief Executive alongside Edward Bonham Carter between May 2000 and June 2007, becoming Group Executive Deputy Chairman on completion of the management buy out on 19 June 2007.

Jonathan will remain a member of Jupiter's board, with responsibility for overseeing the operations and development of Jupiter's growing offshore funds. Jupiter's Unit Trust Administration and IT divisions will report to Adrian Creedy - Jupiter's Chief Operating Officer. Jupiter's board structure remains unchanged.

Jonathan Carey, Group Executive Deputy Chairman of Jupiter, said: "I am immensely proud of how Jupiter has developed during the past 20 years. The completion of our management buy out in June last year was a fitting culmination of my role as Joint Group Chief Executive, at which point I felt it was appropriate to hand over full executive responsibility for the business to Edward, with a view to stepping back from a full time role during 2008.

"During the past year, we have worked to hand over a number of my responsibilities, and I am now looking forward to focusing my efforts on developing our offshore funds operation, which is enjoying strong growth not only in Continental Europe but further afield."

Edward Bonham Carter, Group Chief Executive of Jupiter, said: "Jonathan and I have enjoyed a strong partnership during the past eight years. His financial and operational expertise has been critical to building Jupiter into the success it is today and I am delighted that he will continue to offer advice and counsel to the business in his new role."
