Jupiter is delighted to announce the appointment of Chris Watt as manager of the £44m Jupiter Environmental Income Fund.
Chris, who joined Jupiter in 1999, took on the Jupiter Environmental Income Fund from Peter Hulse with effect from 1 January 2007.
For most of his career at Jupiter, Chris has worked as an assistant fund manager on the UK equity desk. In August 2006, he extended these responsibilities in anticipation of taking on the Jupiter Environmental Income Fund, to include SRI. In this role, he has worked closely with Peter, Emma Howard Boyd and Charlie Thomas, manager of the Jupiter Ecology Fund, to develop his knowledge of the sector.
Chris is also deputy fund manager of the Jupiter UK Growth Exempt Fund. As a team-based best ideas fund, this means that he works closely with the key fund managers on the UK equity desk.
Peter, who has worked at Jupiter for 12 years and has managed the Jupiter Environmental Income Fund since 2003, will be leaving Jupiter later this year to pursue other interests. In the period until he leaves, Peter will continue to support Chris in an advisory capacity on the fund.
Edward Bonham Carter, joint chief executive at Jupiter Asset Management, said: "Peter has made a great contribution to Jupiter during the past 12 years and we would like to thank him for helping us build the department ahead of his departure. We wish him the very best of luck for the future.
"In the seven years he has worked at Jupiter, Chris has built an excellent reputation internally and has a strong understanding of the green investment market. I am delighted he is taking on the management of this fund."
