For the past 20 years, Jupiter has been at the forefront of managing green and socially responsible investment (SRI) funds. This has enabled us to develop a leading knowledge of corporate environmental, social and governance performance.
The investment universe is expanding at a rapid rate, and we believe that there are three notable long-term drivers of growth within this universe:
- Government policy and regulation is proving vital in forcing the pace of change and therefore the adoption of new technologies and services.
- Adoption of environmentally-friendly practices in the corporate sector is generating opportunities for service and product providers.
- The consumer sector is beginning to become increasingly important by driving further adoption of environmental products and services.
Our SRI team research and manage two screened green and SRI unit trust funds, namely the Jupiter Ecology Fund and the Jupiter Environmental Income Fund. We also manage the Jupiter Green Investment Trust and the Jupiter Climate Change Solutions Fund (SICAV).
20 years investing for green - The Jupiter Ecology Fund
The Jupiter Ecology Fund, the first authorised green unit trust, launched in April 1988, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
Managed by Charlie Thomas since 2003, the Fund focuses on companies providing solutions for environmental and social problems. Charlie and the SRI team research companies' ethical and environmental credentials around six key green investment themes and then invest globally in companies that can demonstrate positive growth as well as sound environmental and social principles.
