The Jupiter Global Energy Fund, launched in July 2011, aims to capture growth prospects within the global energy sector. Global trends are changing the way we look at energy. The development of emerging economies for instance, will see domestic energy consumption rise in these regions. While western economies are increasingly turning their attention towards alternative energy sources such as nuclear power and renewables.
The Fund was launched with a view to offering investors exposure to opportunities within world energy markets by investing in companies involved in the exploration, production, transmission and distribution of energy, globally. Fund manager, Derek Pound aims to identify companies that occupy strong positions within growth markets, by focusing on company fundamentals. Derek will also be seeking out potential among new technologies to make the most of what he believes will be growth areas.
