What is a SIPP - Self Invested Personal Pension?

Flexible
A SIPP is a tax-efficient wrapper   which allows you to select your own investments from a wide variety of options. It offers diversification by enabling you to spread your money across a whole range of investment types rather than investing in one of a limited range of funds. The types of investments you are able to select will be subject to Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and any restrictions set by your SIPP Provider.

What are the benefits of investing in    a SIPP?

  • Control - allowing you to actively manage your investments in line with your changing financial objectives. Please be aware, however, that it may take longer to realise the value of some assets than others.
  • Consolidation - providing you with the opportunity to combine all your pensions with other providers into one, reducing reporting and paperwork.
  • Diversification - enabling you to spread your risk rather than holding 'all your eggs in one basket'.
  • Flexibility - giving you the choice to invest in a wide range of investments permitted by HMRC.
  • Choice - allowing you to choose from the full range of options at retirement, from purchasing an annuity to taking a managed income withdrawal from your fund.
  • Tax efficiency - offering you the same tax benefits as other personal pension plans. Personal contributions into a SIPP receive Income Tax relief, and the investments within a SIPP are able to grow free of Capital Gains Tax.
